Brazil International Book Fair

Brazil international book fair is also called the Rio de Janeiro International Book Fair.

The event is held on odd years (2005, 2007, etc) at Rio de Janeiro, and has been the leading literary event in the city for years.

The event has been growing in size and stature with each passing event after the first that was held in 1983.

Many consider it the most important publishing event in Brazil, and as such it attracts authors, writers, journalists, publishers and students to browse and buy books covering every conceivable topic.

The event has each time a national theme with special exhibitions and shows around that theme.

In addition to the book stalls and exhibitions there is also a Discussion Forum, which is basically been developed to allow for book themed discussions on varied themes.

The venue is normally at Riocentro, which is located at Avenida Salvador Allende 6,555, Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro.

You can read more about the venue, Riocentro, at www.rio.rj.gov.br/riocentro/ .
