University of Central Florida Bookstore
University of Central Florida bookstore is run by the Barnes & Noble College Booksellers.
According to the Florida Association of College Stores, the official bookstore is the biggest source of textbooks for the more than 42,000 students that each semester need to buy course books. The project originated as a 25,000 square foot addition to the existing University of Central Florida Student Services Building and was expanded to include the renovation of 16,000 square feet within the existing campus bookstore. The official bookstore has two main off-campus competitors, in College Book & Supply Inc. (www.collegebook.com) and Knight's Corner (www.knightscorner.com), both owned by Lincoln, Neb.-based Nebraska Book Co. In addition to these resellers, the Knightswap (knightswap.com) online store pairs UCF students up to sell books to one another. One of the best reasons for using the official store, however, is that their inventories in terms of coursebooks are very comprehensible and are provided directly by the faculty. In comparison, some of the off-campus stores may cherry-pick and only offer books for the most popular courses. The official store has a website at ucf.bncollege.com, from where you can make the purchases online, browse the inventories of books, school supplies, and Knights apparel, for example.
